ALOK PUBLIC SCHOOL

Primary School

Every parent is concerned about his/her child’s education and wants to provide the best education to them. Nowadays children’s education means grooming, enhancing their knowledge, exposing them to different ideas and introducing them to the environment around them.

That’s what we do in Alok public school.

“I hear and I forget.  I see and I remember.  I do and I understand.”

~Confucius

Here the curriculum is

  • “Learner and Learning Centric”

–  Here the learning happens in an interactive classroom.

– Every learner is unique and the process of learning is individual specific.

  • Based on “Experiential Learning”

– Opportunities for learning through experience – both hands-on and otherwise.

– This helps the child to improve teamwork, leadership and communication skills.

  • Value based learning

Assessment in Primary

Assessment is an integral part of the teaching learning process. It allows achievements to be recognized and helps both teachers and learners to reflect on and review their performance and progress.

  • The assessment focuses on all the key areas of student learning and development i.e., Scholastic and Co-scholastic.
  • There are two formative assessments each in the first and second term.
  • Each formative assessment is again divided into smaller assessments.
  • The assessment is used to
  • Promote students learning
  • Identify students with specific learning difficulties.
  • Make improvement in the instructional programmes
  • Enable the teacher to plan according to the strengths and weaknesses of the students.

Information & Communication Technology (ICT)

  • A computer is a device for working with information. The information can be numbers, words, pictures, movies, or sounds. Computer information is also called data and it can process huge amounts of data very quickly.
  • First children will ‘play’ with technologies, exploring how they work and what they do; children will then use these technologies for a range of purposes.

The first steps to learning a computer.

  • Familiarize students with the hardware.
  • Power up the computer.
  • Navigate through the different areas of the computer.
  •  Through the integration of Information and Communication Technology across various subjects, the students will develop the ability to:
  • Become competent and confident to use the basic knowledge and skills acquired to assist them in their daily lives.
  • Learn about the world and know what is happening in it.
  •  Problem solving skills.
  • Open eyes to the digital world.
  •  Improve the quality and learning outcomes.
